ROOM UPSTAIRS

The room upstairs in our house  is unique. For a 12X12  room it used to have 6 windows and two doors. It is highly ventilated ,cool in summers(they were not so severe those days)and warm in wintertime.SRM used to sleep in nights and read poems to my mother.I mentioned about this previously.later it was SLN,SGR s bed room then ours It was platform for plays, card games, mini party s,tutions, and many other activities.Am leaving for others to fill in details of their memories.

Increase of violence in schools...thoughts?

With the school shooting tragedy fresh in our minds, any thoughts on the reasons for the increased violence? And why are schools such big targets? Columbine, Virginia Tech, now Newtown....

And this is not a US phenomenon..What about the Norway massacre that killed 77 youth...or the slashings in China that killed/injured 22....

Is gun culture to blame? But America had Guns since the days of Second amendment....

Is the breakage of the family units the cause? Many of the shooters come from broken families...

Are the video games/movies to blame, with their glorification of violence?

Or is it about parenting methods? Not teaching kids right from wrong, or how to control emotions?

Many questions but no answers.....

Thoughts from the family?

A traditional decor

I found this link, and it reminded me of our Kavali house. The exterior and some of the furniture in the house is just like ours.

Holiday Party Desserts

We had a holiday party this weekend with a bunch of family and friends. While Nabeela delivered on the appetizers with Cocktail samosas and pakodas and main entrees were covered by the Potluck....the ladies of the house delivered a stunning finale with our dessert selection, Chocolate Covered Apricot Balls, Chewey Magic Cookies and Chocolate Almond Fudge Shortbread.
