SRM was very fond of his father. He preserved his fathers SSLC register , B.A,B.L Degrees and wedding invitation.
SRM named his first son after his father.(SLN took his grandfathers name and me his mothers)
He very proudly told about the reception and classical concert arranged by SVSR (senior)on the ocassion of his thread marraige.
when I criticized his father about the construction of new rooms on theN W corner of the house (later demolished by durga) against vaastu, SRM defended his father stoutly saying "that was the felt need of that day.grains have to be stored and there were no rooms"
SVSR(sr) was a failure in profession , crash of urbatnat bank affected badly and the property was in debts by the time SRM took over. He has pain stakingly earned back all those properties. SRM never uttered any thing against his father at any point of time.
KIDS OF ALL AGES , PLEASE NOTE .
I donated 2months salary and was instituting a prize in my mothers memory in Jawahar Bharati, wanted to call it singampalli venkata subbamma memorial prize. SRM suggested that it should be SVS memorial prize so that his father will also be remembered.
In fitness of things Krupa won that prize when she was a student of inter and her photo recieving prize was back cover of the magzine(not done usually) at my request.

He was fatherless by the age of 14. He was educated by his mother (useless) and aunt(powerful).
SVSR was the vice-president of Kavali panchayat and his liberal donations to the cause of the poor depleted the finances. Added to that was the collapse (Fraudulent) of the Arbuthnot bank. To cap it all the two women were duped and relieved of their jewellery.
All in all, he had inherited lands which were under mortgage. He earned and repaid all the loans and the Singampallis were landlords to reckon with again.
we once asked him why he could not let those lands go and his reply was that they were earned by his grandfather and he HAS to get them back.
I have never heard him say anything BAD or CRITICAL about any of his elders.
He was always fond and appreciative of them.
YESSS! Kids of all ages please note.
It is easy to criticise and find fault with elders. But one has to remember that they are our roots and sustenance providers. We have to be always indebted to them.
DMR says the same thing about his father DNR.He repaid all the debts of his father who gave away the landed property of 300 acres in alms to his near &dear.DNR never criticised his father.May be alesson!
